Ongoing Mission and Service Projects:

  • Any contribution to support those in need during the COVID-19 pandemic crisis.
  • Any contribution to support anti-racism pro-reconciliation efforts.

Our Mission First Goal:

  • to be a church that acts on God’s overwhelming call to respond with compassion to the vulnerable
  • to educate ourselves and others about our life with undocumented people, refugees, and immigrants and to provide assistance as much as possible
  • to address issues of health care, disabilities, and special needs children
  • to work for human rights for all people, including Muslims, Jews, other minority religious groups, women, LGBTQ+, and more
  • to remain committed to the poor, the hungry, the homeless, people with mental health issues, the uneducated, the powerless, and the afraid

  • Our Zoom Socials will continue as desired every Wednesday at 6:00.
  • Our next Fireside gathering will be the fourth Sunday, September 26.

  • Cheryl led our discussion of the in-between, liminal space that we continue to find ourselves in during this time of COVID-19.

Joys and Concerns:

  • Sherrill’s aunt is recovering in rehab now following the placement of five stints.
  • Sherrill’s sister, Diane, will receive her diagnosis on October 4.
  • The funeral for Sherrill’s friend, Deb, will be in Boulder on Friday.
  • Cheryl found a lot of joy in participating in the Fall Feast this year via Zoom.
  • Kathi’s brother, Larry, had his gall bladder removed, and then had a heart attack.  He is recovering now following the placement of a stint.
  • Max shared that he was enjoying the ocean at the time of Gail’s death; feeling the pull of the undertow followed by the calm of the water made him feel close to her at that moment.
