Discussion:

  • Debbie presented more data from our retreat and asked us to participate in “member checking,” which is a form of auditing used in qualitative research.  Thanks to everyone for your participation!

Joys and Concerns:

  • Bruce had rotator cuff surgery and is beginning his long recovery.
  • Kaye Murphey’s memorial service will be October 22 at 10:00 at South Broadway Christian Church.  Cheryl will be the officiant.
  • Cheryl had a wonderful time at the wedding of her friend Sallie’s son.  She was delighted to share in the sheer joy of these two men celebrating love and the great diversity that was represented among the guests.
  • Ellen is currently sailing from Cyprus to Crete.
  • Sherrill’s “kids” will be moving to a new location at the end of the year.  This will be a big change for everyone, including Sherrill.
  • Max’s church has rented space to a new church start, All Saints LA, which seems to be progressive and along the lines of the churches we read about in Belief After Doubt.
  • Gregory is on a new chemo schedule.  Though helpful, he is very fatigued.  Janet is putting together a website like Caring Bridge to support them both.
  • Tory went to Messiah with Sherrill this morning.  Sherrill and the pastor sang the communion meditation together.
  • Cos is spending some quality time with family members during the week for dinner and football.
  • A student on the JV soccer team at Phil M.’s school broke his arm in two places this week.
