Ongoing Mission and Service Projects:

Our Mission First Goal:

  • to be a church that acts on God’s overwhelming call to respond with compassion to the vulnerable
  • to educate ourselves and others about our life with undocumented people, refugees, and immigrants and to provide assistance as much as possible
  • to address issues of health care, disabilities, and special needs children
  • to work for human rights for all people, including Muslims, Jews, other minority religious groups, women, LGBTQ+, and more
  • to remain committed to the poor, the hungry, the homeless, people with mental health issues, the uneducated, the powerless, and the afraid

  • Debbie led us in a discussion of a short video by Katharine Hayhoe:  “Grateful for Fossil Fuels but Time to Move On.” 

Joys and Concerns:

  • The memorial service for Cheryl’s parents will be 11:00 Saturday, November 12, at South Broadway Christian Church. 
  • Cheryl begins her new position as interim regional minister for the Central Rocky Mountain Region on November 21.   
  • Henry, the husband of Cheryl’s friend, Mary Beth, died of cancer.  Please hold Mary Beth and Henry’s family in your thoughts and prayers.
  • Janet’s father had a stroke two days ago.  He is recovering well.
  • Max’s friend, June, passed out and fell during the church service this morning.  She is doing well now.
  • Richard will celebrate 70 years of ordination on November 14!
  • Lisa’s friend, Joy, is having trouble with her knees and is in a lot of pain.
  • Judy’s friend, Diana Flahive, began hosting a support group for women who are caregivers for their husbands.
  • Cheryl is excited that Evergreen had 20 people in worship today, more than they’ve had since she’s been with them.
  • Sherrill’s caregiver is currently living in her car, as she cannot live with her father.
  • Thinking of the outcome of the election this week and the future of our democracy.
