Our Mission First Goal:

  • to be a church that acts on God’s overwhelming call to respond with compassion to the vulnerable
  • to educate ourselves and others about our life with undocumented people, refugees, and immigrants and to provide assistance as much as possible
  • to address issues of health care, disabilities, and special needs children
  • to work for human rights for all people, including Muslims, Jews, other minority religious groups, women, LGBTQ+, and more
  • to remain committed to the poor, the hungry, the homeless, people with mental health issues, the uneducated, the powerless, and the afraid

  • Our Zoom Socials will continue as desired every Wednesday at 6:00.

  • December 25 – Merry Christmas!

  • Debbie led us in a discussion of Katharine Hayhoe’s last short video: “It is Not Too Late.”

Joys and Concerns:

  • Our hearts are heavy with pain and anger at the news of another shooting targeting LGBTQ+ people, this one at Club Q in Colorado Springs.  Prayers for those who lost their lives, those who were injured, all those who are traumatized.
  • The Church Narrative Project was powerful for those who listened in on Zoom, and especially powerful for those who were able to attend in person.  Hopefully, more shared stories will lead to a shared future for the church in our region and beyond.
  • Phil Campbell and his wife, Teresa, have RSV.  Their young grandbaby is also recovering from RSV and the flu.
  • Lisa had a pretty good visit with her dad, so she is feeling hopeful that more visits and important conversation will happen in the future.
  • Tory’s sister, Cookie, isn’t feeling very well today.
  • Cheryl begins her new position as interim regional minister for the Central Rocky Mountain Region on November 21, but she went to Pueblo this weekend to be with Joan Bell-Haynes and the people of Park Hill Christian Church as they closed their ministry.  Phil Campbell reported that the closing worship service included a baby dedication, a very hopeful sign of resurrection.
  • Tory reports that recycling in Denver apartment residences takes effect in June.
  • Bruce is recovering from his rotator cuff surgery and is able to tolerate more time without his arm in a sling.
