Ongoing Mission and Service Projects:

Our Mission First Goal:

  • to be a church that acts on God’s overwhelming call to respond with compassion to the vulnerable
  • to educate ourselves and others about our life with undocumented people, refugees, and immigrants and to provide assistance as much as possible
  • to address issues of health care, disabilities, and special needs children
  • to work for human rights for all people, including Muslims, Jews, other minority religious groups, women, LGBTQ+, and more
  • to remain committed to the poor, the hungry, the homeless, people with mental health issues, the uneducated, the powerless, and the afraid

  • Debbie led us in a discussion of a short video by Katharine Hayhoe: “There Can Be a Better Future.” 

Joys and Concerns:

  • A few of us were honored to share in the celebration of life for Cheryl’s parents yesterday, along with the wonderful meal served afterward at SOBO.  Cheryl is grateful for all the love. 
  • Cheryl begins her new position as interim regional minister for the Central Rocky Mountain Region on November 21.   
  • Richard celebrates 70 years of ordination on November 14!
  • Tory is celebrating Cookie’s birthday today.
  • Prayers for Jasmine who lost her grandmother a few days ago and cannot return for the funeral.
  • Cos lifted up Ukraine, as they appear to be taking back their country.  Prayers for them as they move ahead in the days to come.
  • We are all celebrating and feeling hopeful following the election.
