Ongoing Mission and Service Projects:

Our Mission First Goal:

  • to be a church that acts on God’s overwhelming call to respond with compassion to the vulnerable
  • to educate ourselves and others about our life with undocumented people, refugees, and immigrants and to provide assistance as much as possible
  • to address issues of health care, disabilities, and special needs children
  • to work for human rights for all people, including Muslims, Jews, other minority religious groups, women, LGBTQ+, and more
  • to remain committed to the poor, the hungry, the homeless, people with mental health issues, the uneducated, the powerless, and the afraid

  • Lisa led us in our discussion of Doubt as Dissent. 

Joys and Concerns:

  • Phil and Debbie returned from Costa Rica with COVID.  They are both much better now!
  • Celebrating the Avs victory!
  • Kaye Murphey has decided to go under hospice care.  She enjoys receiving visitors when she is awake.
  • Judy’s brother, Jim, will undergo surgery for prostate cancer this week.  His prognosis is very good!
  • Ann, Cheryl, and Phil M are participating in a sermon series at South Broadway Christian Church.
  • Happy 4th of July!  May it be both fun and safe!
  • Diane Ashton is doing a little bit better this week and has moved out of intensive care to critical care.
  • In his grief, Cheryl’s dad has been scooting out of his chair and down the hall of his residence. 
  • Cheryl is celebrating babies!  Her cousin had a grandbaby born on Cheryl’s mom’s birthday, and Katrina’s baby is home from the hospital now. 
  • Lisa will be preaching at Northglenn UCC next week.
  • Sherrill is excited about participating in a writer’s conference in Albuquerque this week.
  • Janet let us know that Gregory had a bad reaction to his chemotherapy.  Efforts are being made to adjust the therapy to make it more tolerable.
