Ongoing Mission and Service Projects:

  • Any contribution to support those in need during the COVID-19 pandemic crisis.
  • Any contribution to support anti-racism pro-reconciliation efforts.

Our Mission First Goal:

  • to be a church that acts on God’s overwhelming call to respond with compassion to the vulnerable
  • to educate ourselves and others about our life with undocumented people, refugees, and immigrants and to provide assistance as much as possible
  • to address issues of health care, disabilities, and special needs children
  • to work for human rights for all people, including Muslims, Jews, other minority religious groups, women, LGBTQ+, and more
  • to remain committed to the poor, the hungry, the homeless, people with mental health issues, the uneducated, the powerless, and the afraid

  • Debbie led our Lenten discussion on Mary Oliver’s poem, “In Blackwater Woods,” with its themes of loss and rebirth, the patterns of life.

Joys and Concerns:

  • Prayers for all those suffering with COVID-19, for their caregivers and healthcare workers, and for those who are feeling the strain of being isolated.
  • Prayers for all those suffering the pain of injustice.
  • Prayers for our democracy and our capacity to find common ground.
  • Cheryl’s dad has been hospitalized with C Diff.  He’s scheduled to go home on Monday.  Cheryl’s parents will receive 24-hour care at home.
  • Cheryl received her first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine.
  • Kathi’s sister, Shirley, has been hospitalized with pneumonia and sepsis.  They have  stopped chemotherapy for the time being and are evaluating her for leukemia and lymphoma. 
  • It was a joy to have Tory’s friends, Max and Gail, join us from California.
  • Gail continues in cancer treatment, and both Gail and Max have received the second dose of the COVID-19 vaccination.
  • Sherrill received confirmation that she received the actual Johnson and Johnson vaccine during trials.
  • Don Helseth, retired pastor of Central Christian Church, passed away earlier this month from COVID-19 and heart failure.
  • Prayers for Cookie, who is doing well.
