Our Mission First Goal:

  • to be a church that acts on God’s overwhelming call to respond with compassion to the vulnerable
  • to educate ourselves and others about our life with undocumented people, refugees, and immigrants and to provide assistance as much as possible
  • to address issues of health care, disabilities, and special needs children
  • to work for human rights for all people, including Muslims, Jews, other minority religious groups, women, LGBTQ+, and more
  • to remain committed to the poor, the hungry, the homeless, people with mental health issues, the uneducated, the powerless, and those who are afraid

Discussion:

  • Judy led our Colors of Hope study today beginning with the Pink chapter.  Sherrill led us in communion. 

Joys and Concerns:

  • Debbie successfully defended her DMin project dissertation!  Graduation is May 20!
  • Judy started purchasing bamboo toilet tissue and handing it out for gifts!
  • Bev started composting and has ordered a hybrid car!
  • Phil M. is the keynote speaker for the CRMR Mid-Winter Retreat!
  • Cheryl reports that Evergreen CC member Christine Dunning is recovering from surgery and that the results of Christine’s latest scan were good!
  • Sherrill’s brain scan showed no aneurysm! 
  • Sherrill is considering a life decision and asks for support.  
  • Cheryl has one more week to serve as Interim Regional Minister.
  • Phil M’s students are struggling in some very difficult situations currently.
