Ongoing Mission and Service Projects:

Our Mission First Goal:

  • to be a church that acts on God’s overwhelming call to respond with compassion to the vulnerable
  • to educate ourselves and others about our life with undocumented people, refugees, and immigrants and to provide assistance as much as possible
  • to address issues of health care, disabilities, and special needs children
  • to work for human rights for all people, including Muslims, Jews, other minority religious groups, women, LGBTQ+, and more
  • to remain committed to the poor, the hungry, the homeless, people with mental health issues, the uneducated, the powerless, and the afraid

Joys and Concerns:

  • Tory’s mammogram came back negative!
  • Prayers of comfort and healing for Salmon Rushti and the Chataqua Community as they recover from the violence of this past week.  Prayers for Joan Bell-Haynes who serves as chaplain there this week.
  • Karen Nielson’s father passed away suddenly this morning.
  • Ann’s cataract surgery went well.  She’s hoping for greater vision improvement in the days ahead.
  • Prayers of comfort for Max as he commemorates Gails’ death one year ago on August 18. 
  • Richard’s daughter, Jeri, is working hard to stop smoking as she prepares for her upcoming surgery.
  • Diana Flahive’s husband, Marty, was hospitalized.  Diana organizes the WHI/CHUM ministry.
  • Judy’s friends’ daughter, Hazel, is struggling with health issues.
  • Lisa’s Aunt Pat is undergoing treatment for cancer again.
  • Elyjah celebrated his 18th birthday and high school graduation this week.  He’s off to Film School at the Community College of Aurora!
  • Our prayers continue for Kathi and Cos.
  • Our prayers continue for Janet and Gregory.
